One Summer: A Haiku Quintet
(For D.)

that awesome buffet
we could eat all we wanted
you and me feasting

humid riverside park
teasing you point at my back
mosquitoes swarm me

that summer we camped
we plugged in our devices
surrounded by trees

the Cancer Jesus
you shared Hot Chip’s video
I loved it and you

that summer road trip
music playing as we talked
friends together forever
